Beat the heat: Your getaway needs

April 18, 2017

Whether you’re going on holiday for the summer or travelling to a hot country, there are a few handy products you’ll need to help you make the most of it. A hot country can be rather overwhelming for some, especially if you’re not used to it, and while the sun may be what you’re looking for, it’s not always as friendly as it may seem. At Luxury Halal Travel we want all our clients to make the most of their holiday, and that includes making sure you have everything you need on you when you need it. While most products can be bought at your destination, being prepared is always the best way to prevent delay, and the ultimate panic to purchase an item at what could be an inconvenient time.

So what do you really need when you’re travelling to a hot country? Most items are common sense, but with the hustle and bustle of preparing for your holiday and packing your things, certain items may end up being forgotten. We’ve provided a list of summer needs that will help you enjoy your holiday to the max. Whether it’s an essential or something you can put up without having, a list of items to check off we’ll make preparing for your escapade that much easier.

Sun Lotion

One of the most common holiday items everyone should carry on them when travelling is sun lotion. Sun lotion can be a life saver for those that burn easily. When choosing a type of sun lotion we suggest you choose one with a high SPF if you plan to stay under the sun for a long period of time. A higher SPF will give you better protection than those that are lower. We also recommend you choose a trusted brand and consider various factors such as your skin type. There is a range of different sun lotion products available nowadays, all with different purposes such as sun lotion for dry skin, sensitive skin and etc.

After Sun Care

After Sun Care lotion can be just as important as sun lotion. This type of lotion helps soothes your skin after it’s been exposed to the sun while also helping to soften it and prevent it from peeling. While you can’t undo sun damage, you can help your skin by nourishing it and giving it the aftercare it needs to help it return to its normal self.

Easy Slip Ons

Having a comfortable pair of footwear is a must when going on holiday. Apart from wanting to stay comfortable during hours of travelling, you’ll also want to stay that way while exploring abroad. A common must have for sunny destinations and beaches are flip flops, however, some people may prefer wearing slip-ons to prevent sand and dirt irritating their feet. We recommend you carry a pair of comfortable slip-ons that are easy to slip on and off when travelling to a hot destination. They can be great for a day out hiking or roaming the city before easily slipping off when you arrive at the beach.

Loose Clothing

If you’re not used to the sun then it can become a little too much. Making sure your comfortable while away plays a big part in actually enjoying your holiday, making loose clothing a very important item to bring along. Whether it’s a loose top, dress, jacket, trouser or skirt, anything loose fitting will give you body the air it needs to help stay cool. Tight clothing can make you sweat a lot more, and give you that rather icky uncomfortable feeling no one likes to feel.

An Easy Access Bag

Make sure you bring along a bag that provides easy access, by this we mean you should be able to get what you need, when you need it, without having to play hide and seek with all the other items. A tote bag, beach bag, or a knapsack are great bags to carry with you on your day to day travels, especially when travelling to the beach, They provide just enough space for things you need, without it being too bulky.

Summer Hats

Protect yourself from the heat with the use of summer hats! You can enjoy choosing from a variety of styles and designs, with many being quite fashionable. Summer hats are a great way to help protect your head from getting too much direct heat from the sun, something that could potentially cause faintness or even a heat stroke.

Another important item to help protect you from the sun are sunglasses. Not only will they protect your eyes, but they’ll also allow you to enjoy the view without being blinded by the sunlight. Sunglasses are a must-have on holiday, and they too can be part of a rather interesting shopping experience as you’ll have thousands of styles, colours, and designs to choose from.

Goggles, Snorkels, and Nose Plugs

If you plan on going swimming, especially in a tropical country, then having goggles, snorkels, and nose plugs are a must! These buddies will help your summer getaway be an unforgettable one with the various beauties of the underwater world you’ll get to see.

Most importantly, always make sure you have enough water with you! Water is a must have wherever you are, but even more when you’re travelling to a hot country. Make sure you only purchase purified water when abroad and keep in mind that any ice should also be purified. Always ask just to be sure, as many travellers have experienced upset stomachs due to drinking unpurified water. Keep yourself hydrated at all times, and if you start to feel that the heat is becoming too much, seek a shaded spot or return to an air conned room where you can cool down.
